According to the Centers for Disease Control, most experts believe flu viruses spread by droplets made when people with the flu cough, sneeze or talk. Less often, a person might also get the flu by touching a surface or object that has the flu virus on it and then touching their own mouth, eyes or possibly their nose. See what the CDC suggests for creating a healthy environment for your organization.

In one study testing how fast germs spread in the office, a surrogate virus was given to 10 employees in an office of 80 total employees. Within four hours, more than 50% of surfaces and employees were contaminated with the virus. The surrogate virus they used had similar spread tendencies as the flu virus. This is just one study on how fast these viruses spread in a work environment, so be sure to schedule your workplace immunizations today!
